After traipsing around Kings Park and the city all day on Tuesday I had zero energy to head back in for the City of Perth Skyworks
in the evening. Thankfully my brother-in-law Bill did and has very kindly let me use his captures for the night to highlight the pyrotechnical brilliance of the show. The hard part for me was choosing thirteen out of the 200 fabulous shots he took.. this is the difference between using knees as a tripod and actually
using a tripod :) I hope you enjoy, merci beaucoup Bill. Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe... p.s. you have no idea how tempted I was to play with the shot above and add in stems, it sort of looks like a bunch of flowers don't you think!

Magpie-lark..or is it.
I have three birdbaths in my garden, two at the back and this one just outside the window where I sit and write the blog. It's a fund of photo opportunities especially in summer when the birds really appreciate a bit of a cool down, the word has spread..'this is a good spot, three pools and a smorgasbord'! This male Magpie-lark landed, checked out the vicinity for pussy cats, tested the water temperature (as you do) and plunged in with careless abandon (as you do)! The baffling thing is that if you check the info on the Magpie-lark it reads 'the name Magpie-lark is quite misleading as the species has no link with either the magpies or the larks', I'm definitely feeling misled haha! I was hoping for a relaxing weekend, before I realized we have a million things to do. How about you, much left to do before 'C' Day! Make time to chill, take care and stay safe.....
Max & Hound..
More often than not life can be overly complicated so when you do come across something that is straightforward, what you see is what you get.. well, you'd be mad not to take a quick shot or two right! The inspiration
for children's store Max & Hound on Beaufort Street in
Mount Lawley is one that all grandparents will understand. After looking at their facebook page I can't believe I took the pics and didn't go in, will have to rectify that asap! Painted by Simon Sieradzki this mural couldn't be more perfectly positioned.. the shop next door made me lol though :) Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..
Comfort versus style!
Back in Art Gallery WA. Actually there is no 'versus' here, both are super stylish. As the designer and maker of fabulous furniture himself P is always attracted to the
Craft and Design Gallery, this exhibition titled 'Resonant Objects'. The sofa to the left by Australian designer Christopher Robertson is described as 'over the top foyer luxury'.. I think I could quite happily sit on this elegant sofa while waiting in a foyer :) The sofa to the right by the late Australian designer Robert Forster, although incredible, might make the elegant getting on and off a little harder. I confess to preferring a big comfy squishy sofa at home :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe...
Love is in the air.....
One of the worst things about above ground electricity poles is that they're an eyesore on an otherwise pleasant streetscape..the good thing about above ground electricity poles is that they make a convenient resting spot after a long flight. We're in for some stormy weather in Perth over the next week and apart from the 'loved-up' couple atop the pole (it's not very clear but if you pull the two below images in a bit you can see there's a bit of a crush going on up there) and their entourage, the rest of the flock were a little 'twitchy'. I think if the weather is going to be as bad as they say, I might do some serious snuggling myself!! I'm off to see a French movie today, 'Cafe de Flore' with a title like that you just know it's going to be fantastique oui! Have a fab Friday, stay safe.....
Waiting with style!
I'm not sure why I like this image so much, perhaps because it epitomizes summer/spring in Perth.. well Fremantle
actually but that's neither here nor there :) The early morning sun shining, the smell of coffee brewing? Nah, it's absolutely 100% hair envy :) how gorgeous does this young lady look in her summer dress, the sun glinting off that fabulous mop of curly hair, j'adore! Hope you like it too, happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe...
